The writ petitioner is aggrieved by nonconsideration of the petitioner's representation for modification/revision of the timetable following which, the writ petitioner plies the writ petitioner's vehicle on the permitted route i.e Bajitpur Bus Stand to Bolpur Bus Stand via Balsi Barasat, More, Bus Stop, Patrasayer, Kankardanga More, Sonamukhi Bus Stand, Beliatore Bus Stand, Barjora Bus Stop, Pratappur Durgapur Railway Station Bus Stand, Muchipara, Rajbandh, Kanksa, Illambazar Bus Stand.

It is submitted by the writ petitioner that the writ petitioner's permit is valid till February 10, 2030. The writ petitioner further submits that the timetable, which was initially valid till March 20, 2025 had been extended till June 19, 2025. The writ petitioner complains that although the writ petitioner has made an application on May 29, 2025 (i.e. prior to the expiry of the validity of the timetable granted to her), for modification/revision of the said timetable, the petitioner's application has been pending with the authorities. The writ petitioner further

contends that as the writ petitioner's timetable that had been granted to the petitioner earlier would be expiring on June 19, 2025 it was incumbent on the respondents to have considered the writ petitioner's representation prior to June 19, 2025.

This Court notes that the petitioner has made the application for variation/revision of her timetable only on May 29, 2025, i.e. less than a month prior to the date of expiry of the validity thereof and the instant writ petition has been filed only on June 11, 2025.

In such view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the Secretary, State Transport Authority to take a decision on the writ petitioner's representation dated May 29, for modification/revision of his timetable, strictly in accordance with law, upon giving an opportunity of hearing to the writ petitioner within a period of three weeks from date of communication of this order. The authorities concerned shall communicate the reasoned decision to the writ petition forthwith.

With the above observations, WPA 12738 of 2025 is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied as expeditiously as possible. (Om Narayan Rai, J.)
