The petitioners are aggrieved due to the inaction of the respondents in granting permit in respect of the permanent stage carriage (Bus) on Route No.235. It is submitted that the petitioners made an application for grant of permit as far as back on August 6, 2024 and upon being duly qualified in such grant offer letter dated November 6, 2024 was issued to the petitioners for granting permanent stage carriage permit in respect of the said route. The petitioners submit that thereafter the petitioners deposited the necessary charges and purchased their respective vehicles, which were presented before the relevant authority within the prescribed period. It is submitted that despite the aforesaid formalities having been complied with nothing was done by the respondent State Transport Authority. In such view of the matter, the petitioners made representations before the respondent no.4 seeking redressal of their grievances. The representations of the

petitioners all dated May 27, 2025 appear at pages 21 to 22 (Annexure P-2), 34 to 35 (Annexure P-3) and pages 47 to 48 (Annexure P-4) of the writ petition. It is submitted by the petitioners that despite the said representations having been made nothing has been done by the respondent State Transport Authority.

Mr. Deb Ray, learned advocate appearing for the State respondents has handed up the Court a copy of the instruction forwarded to him by the respondent no.4. The same is taken on record.

Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and having considered the material on record, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.4 to take appropriate decision on the petitioners' application for grant of permit on Route No.235, strictly in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. With the above observations, WPA 12815 of 2025 stands disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied as expeditiously as possible. (Om Narayan Rai, J.)
