Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that although the petitioners were enrolled under a crop insurance scheme by the name of Bangla Shasya Bima, floated by the State of West Bengal, despite the petitioners' representations, the petitioners' claim for the concerned amounts under the said scheme were not considered till today by the respondent no.4. It is further submitted that the petitioners have also taken out applications ventilating their grievances in that regard, which are also annexed to the present writ petition.

In view of the innocuous nature of the prayer made, further service of notice is not being directed. Despite service, it may be noted, none appears for the respondents.

Affidavit-of-service filed in court today be kept on record.

In the light of the above discussions, WPA 12999 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.4 to consider and decide on the applications and representations of the petitioners annexed to the present writ petition pertaining to the Bangla Shasya Bima, as expeditiously as possible, positively within six weeks from the date of communication of this order to the respondent no.4.

The parties shall act on a server copy of this order without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy for the purpose of compliance.

Prior to deciding the said applications and representations, the respondent no.4 shall give adequate hearing on the same to the petitioners and/or their authorized representatives.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
