The petitioner's mother, an employee of Punjab National Bank (in short "PNB"), died-in-harness on 23rd December, 2017. The petitioner says that in February 2018 he submitted a representation claming appointment on compassionate ground but the same has not yet been decided Be that as it may, since the petitioner has made an application seeking compassionate appointment, in stead of adjudicating the matter after calling for affidavits, I think justice will be sub-served if I direct the application made by the petitioner to be considered by the respondent no. 5, that is, the Branch Manager, Birati Branch, Punjab National Bank.

The respondent no. 5, after affording the petitioner a reasonable opportunity of hearing, decide

the same by a reasoned order within a period of three months from the date.

Nothing further remains to be adjudicated in this writ petition. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of without, however, any order as to costs. Since I have not called for any affidavits, allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have not been admitted by the respondents.

Parties including the officers of PNB shall act on the basis of a copy of this order, duly downloaded from the official website of this Court, without insisting upon production of a certified copy thereof.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
