There were recoveries of heroin from the possession of the petitioner and another. Petitioner is in custody since 09.09.2023. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that in spite of all co-operation, there is no progress in the trial. On the other hand, learned advocate appearing for the State submits that out of 12 witnesses proposed to be examined, 8 witnesses have already been examined and 4 witnesses are left to be examined.

In view of the belated stage at which the petitioner has approached this Court, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 707 of 2025 is dismissed. However, State would take steps so that within the period

of six months, the prosecution witness is over. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties and the trial of the case would continue in spite of any resolution of the local bar. Petitioner would renew his prayer for bail if within 15th May, 2026 the prosecution witness is not completed.
