The petitioners complain that their land has been acquired by the respondent no.3 (Special Land Acquisition Officer, 24 Parganas, South), but no compensation has been granted to them for the same. The petitioners filed an application before the respondent no.3 on 12/10/2020 and pursuant to the same, they were called by the office of the latter with all relevant documents on 15/10/2020. The petitioners submit that the fate of the said application has not been communicated to them till date, though, it is learnt that the award has been passed in favour of the petitioners.

Having considered the submissions made by the learned counsels for the parties and material on record, I dispose of the writ petition with a direction upon the respondent no.3 to dispose of the application filed by the petitioners on 12/10/2020 within a period

of three months from the date of communication of this order.

I further hold that if it is found that the petitioners are entitled to the compensation, such amount should be disbursed in favour of the petitioners within the said period of time.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 13710 of 2021 is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to be not admitted.

Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
