Mr. Tanoy Chakraborty Mr. Chhandak Dutta ....for the petitioners Mr. Rajarshi Dutta Mr. Prasun Mukherjee Mr. Deepak Agarwal ....for the DVC The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the demand dated 20th May, 2026 issued by the respondent Damodar Valley Corporation enhancing the security deposit from Rs.

2,60,17,000/- to Rs. 3,13,14,000/-.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that they be permitted to pay the additional amount of security deposit Rs.

52,97,000/- in liberal installments.

On behalf of the Damodar Valley Corporation, it is submitted that there is a further minor adjustment aggregating to Rs. 4,70,328/-for the tariff period 2006 to 2012 which the petitioner is entitled to credit.

In such circumstances, the entire amount of security deposit to be paid by the petitioner aggregates to Rs. 48,26,672/-.

In view of the submissions made on behalf of the parties, WPA 13360 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the petitioner to deposit the additional security demand of Rs. 48,26,672/- in two installments commencing from first installment be paid on the June 24, 2026 and second installment to be paid by July 15, 2026.

It is made clear that in default of any one installment the Damodar Valley Corporation is at liberty to take appropriate steps in accordance with law including disconnection of the subject electricity connection without any notice or any further order of Court.
