1) Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

2) Petitioner being an Assistant Teacher of a Government aided recognized school has availed ten years benefit on completion of ten years approved service reckoning his date of increment 27th March, 2006. Subsequently petitioner has completed eighteen years service on 27th March, 2024 and petitioner prays for extending eighteen years benefit reckoning date of increment 1st July, 2006 instead of 27th March, 2006.

3) State respondents are represented by learned advocate.

4) Considering grievance ventilated in this writ petition, this Court finds it apt to grant leave to the petitioner to make representation to

the District Inspector of Schools (SE), Dakshin Dinajpur being respondent no. 3 by fortnight from date claiming sanction of eighteen years benefit reckoning 1st July, 2006 as date of increment. If such representation is made within aforesaid time, respondent no. 3 shall take decision in accordance with law by eight weeks thereafter. Decision to be taken by respondent no. 3 shall be forwarded to the petitioner by ten days thereafter.

5) Writ petition stands disposed of.

6) Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
