1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. Report filed by the Inspector-in-Charge, Uttarpara police station signed on 13th June, 2025 be retained with the records.

3. The petitioners allege inaction on the part of the Sub Divisional Officer, Seerampore, Hooghly being the Presiding Officer of the Maintenance Tribunal under the Maintenance and Welfare of Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

4. The petitioners allege that they have been driven out from their own house by their son and daughter-in-law. Complaint before the Sub Divisional Officer is pending consideration.

5. None represents the private respondents despite service.

6. Without entering into the merits of the matter at this stage, as it appears that the complaint before the Sub Divisional Officer, Seerampore, Hooghly is pending consideration, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Sub Divisional Officer, Seerampore,

Hooghly being the respondent no. 3 herein to take steps to consider and dispose of the application filed by the petitioners strictly in accordance with law after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties and by passing a reasoned order. A specific case under the said Act shall be registered.

7. The Inspector-in-Charge, Uttarpara Police Station is directed to ensure that the petitioners can reside in their own house without any interference or obstruction from the private respondents.

8. The police shall also ensure that there is no breach of peace at the locale and the life and property of the petitioners are not infringed in any manner whatsoever.

9. The writ petition stands disposed of.

10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
