The petitioner claims that notwithstanding deposit of a cost for police protection, he has not been afforded the same.

Since the matter is old, the threat perception against the petitioner shall be assessed afresh by the police. It is only thereupon the police protection shall be deployed.

In the event it is found that no protection is required, the cost put in by the petitioner shall be returned back to the petitioner by the concerned police authority.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
