The petitioner wishes to hold a socio-religious spiritual meeting at Sealdanga, APG Club Ground, Ichapur, Howrah. They claim to have obtained permission from APG Memorial Association.

Counsel for the State, Mr. Raja Saha submits that admittedly the APG Memorial Association is not the owner of the ground. It is owned by the Howrah Municipal Corporation and/or Howrah Improvement Trust.

The petitioner claims to have obtained oral permission from the Estate Officer of the Howrah Improvement Trust.

Let a formal communication be issued by the Howrah Improvement Trust and/or Howrah Municipal Corporation to permit the petitioner to hold the spiritual meeting.

The petitioner shall be entitled to defer the date, if necessary. The petitioner shall indicate to the Dasnagar Police Station the number of persons likely to congregate in the meeting as also the speakers.

The petitioner may, therefore, hold their gathering peacefully after complying with all lawful conditions that may be imposed by the Dasnagar Police Station. 7.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
