1. Mr. Sandip Ghosh, learned counsel for the petitioners and Ms. Priyamvada, learned counsel for the State are present. None appears on behalf of the private respondents, despite service.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners by placing reliance on the report filed by the Office of the Block Land & Land Reforms Officer, Daspur-II, Paschim Medinipur dated 01.07.2025 (Annexure 2), urged that para 5 of the report shows that the Sub-Divisional Officer, Ghatal has initiated the proceedings under the provision of West Bengal Public Land (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1962 vide Miscellaneous Case No.32/2023. Hence this matter may be disposed of by directing the State authority to decide the said miscellaneous case expeditiously within the stipulated time.

3. The learned counsel for the State has no objection to this innocuous prayer.

4. Accordingly, this PIL is disposed of by directing the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer, Ghatal to expedite the hearing of Miscellaneous Case No.32/2023 and decide it in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within 120 days. It will be open to the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer to give an opportunity of hearing to the present petitioners, if law so permits.

5. The PIL is disposed of without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case.
