1. When the petitioner sought for an electricity connection, the CESC Limited refused to give the same on the ground that there would be apprehended splitting of load.

2. The petitioner, being aggrieved by such refusal, approached the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer, but the matter is pending since last February before the said authority.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks an early disposal before the said authority.

4. Accordingly, WPA No. 13138 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.3, that is, the Grievance Redressal Officer, CESC Limited, South West Regional Office, to decide the dispute raised by the petitioner, as

indicated above, as expeditiously as possible and in accordance with law, preferably within four weeks from the date of communication of this order to the Grievance Redressal Officer.

5. There will be no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
