Written instruction forwarded by the OSD & Undersecretary to the Government of West Bengal addressed to the learned Advocate General signed on June 18, 2026 mentions that the Order No. 189/2026 dated June 14, 2026 is a general appeal to all public servants to participate in the official function on the occasion of International Day of Yoga.

The above order is not mandatory in nature and no punitive or coercive action is either contemplated or incorporated in the order in case of failure to attend due to personal reason.

The Court is of the opinion that in view of the instruction forwarded by the respondent authority, there is no requirement of proceeding with the writ petition any further. The same stands disposed of.
