An application for renewal of permit has been made by the writ petitioner within the stipulated time, before the authority. Date of his application is January 24, 2024.

The validity of the existing permit is till February 25, 2024. The reminder letter was dated April 10, 2024. According to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner, after expiry of the permit of the vehicle on Februry 25, 2024, the same is not being able to ply, in absence of the permit being renewed.

Considering the submissions and the record, this writ petition is disposed of, by directing the Secretary, State Transport Authority/ respondent no. 4 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's prayer vide letter dated April 10, 2024 within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of this order. The writ petitioner may be granted an opportunity of hearing, if necessary, to decide on his prayer.

A written order with reasons, shall be passed by the respondent and supplied to the petitioner within one week from its date.

Since no affidavit-in-opposition has been called for in this case, all allegations made in this writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the concerned respondent.

The writ petition is disposed of.
