The innocuous prayer made in the writ petition is that the original application filed by the petitioners before the Tribunal has been kept pending for an inordinately long period.

We find substance in such contention, as the original application was filed as long back as in the year 2013 and is still pending.

Accordingly, WPLRT 118 of 2026 is disposed of by requesting the First Bench of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal to dispose of O.A. 1672 of 2013 (LRTT) as expeditiously as possible, positively by November 30, 2026, by taking up the matter for hearing on the next date fixed, that is, on August 18, 2026. 5.

There will be no order as to costs.
