1. By this writ petition, styled as a Public Interest Litigation, the petitioner alleges that the respondent nos. 9 to 12 are filling up water bodies lying within Ward Nos. 1, 22 and 26 of Chandernagore Municipal Corporation, Police Station Chandernagore, District Hooghly.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the competent authority submitted that a fresh enquiry was conducted by the competent authority and the persons have been enquired into on 19.06.2024 and within a reasonable time about one week appropriate action will be taken in accordance with law. This submission made by the competent authority is placed on record and the competent authority is directed to proceed further in accordance with law and take appropriate action within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

3. In the result, the writ petition is disposed of.
