The petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of Case No.N-60/2020 pending before the learned Special Judge-cumAdditional Sessions Judge, 6th Court at Barasat, North 24-Parganas. The petitioner is the accused of the above-numbered case. He was arrested on 27th February, 2022 and has been in custody for more than 2 years.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that on 3 rd August, 2020 charge-sheet was submitted. Subsequently on 17th February, 2021 supplementary charge-sheet along with Chemical Examination Report was submitted against the petitioner. On 9th December, 2021

charge was framed against him under Section 21(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. In the charge-sheet, there are 8 witnesses. Amongst them 7 witnesses are already examined. The petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of the case. In my view, the instant revision can be disposed of with the assistance of the learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge. Mr. Avishek Sinha, learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge is requested to assist this Court in the instant matter. Appointment of Mr. Sinha be regularized by the learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

Grievance of the petitioner is that on 4 th April, 2022, the Trial Court examined only one witness. Subsequently date was fixed after a gap of three months on 4th July, 2022 and 5th July, 2022. It is not ascertained as to whether any other witnesses were examined on the above-mentioned dates or not.

Since the petitioner is in custody for more than 2 years, the learned Trial Judge is requested to take necessary step for expeditious disposal of the case without hampering other matters pending in his diary and cause list.

With the above direction, the instant revision, is, disposed of. (Bibek Chaudhuri, J.)
