On the basis of the complaint of the petitioner, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Diamond Harbour, District - 24 Parganas (South), the respondent no. 3 herein has initiated a proceeding under the provisions of West Bengal Land (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1962 for removal of the alleged encroachment by the private respondent no. 7 over the public land.

The petitioner is alleging inordinate delay in disposal of the said proceeding.

Learned advocate for the State submits that the said proceeding is at a very matured stage and would be disposed of very soon, she files a report of the respondent no. 3 dated June 24, 2025 to the said effect; let it be kept with the record. Learned advocate for the respondent no. 7 denies the allegation of unlawful encroachment of her client over the public land.

In view of the stage, the respondent no. 3 is requested to bring the said proceeding to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible.

W.P.A. 13231 of 2025 is disposed of with the above observations without any order as to costs.
