Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. The petitioners are the parents who have instituted the present writ petition against the private respondent nos. 4 and 5 who are the son and daughter-in-law respectively.

The main grievance of the petitioner is with regard to the torture being inflicted upon the petitioners as also the counter-allegation which is reflected from the police report in respect of offences relating to Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code. The report of the police authorities further reflects that there is a family feud and there are cases and counter cases. The last of the information received by the police authorities was on 29.08.2023.

The local police station being Singur Police Station is well aware regarding the family feud as large number of cases are pending. Having considered that the police authorities are in knowhow of the situation, police authorities would on receipt of any information, exercise their discretion in respect of the nature of step to be taken in a

particular set of circumstance. As the information which was furnished to the police authorities lastly was on 29.08.2023, at this stage no direction is required to be passed upon the police authorities. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 15636 of 2024 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
