An accommodation has been sought for on behalf of the learned advocate representing the petitioner. Records reveal that the writ petition is pending from September 2021. Repeated adjournments have been sought for by the petitioner.
The Court is not inclined to adjourn the matter any further.
It appears from the averments made in the writ petition and upon hearing the submission made on behalf of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation that the petitioner seeks water and sewerage connection.
Application in plain paper was made by the petitioner in March 2021. The petitioner complains that the same has not been disposed of till date.
Learned advocate representing the Kolkata Municipal Corporation submits that a composite application seeking water and sewerage connection in plain paper cannot be entertained. Separate application
is required to be filed in prescribed format for obtaining water and sewerage connection through the licensed plumber of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. From the documents annexed to the writ petition it appears that application in the prescribed format through the licensed plumber has not yet been made by the petitioner.
In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to apply in the prescribed format through the licensed plumber for obtaining water and sewerage connection before the respective departments.
In the event, separate applications are made, the same shall be considered by the respective departments in accordance with law.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
