1. An affidavit of compliance is filed by learned counsel for the alleged contemnor, which indicates that the order dated April 03, 2024 passed in WPA No. 23671 of 2023 has been complied with.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner also submits that the order has been complied with. However, it is submitted that the deductions already made from the date of filing of the writ petition till the date of the order passed in the writ petition have not been reverted back.

3. From the order under contempt, it is evident that the direction was confined to restraining the respondentbank from deducting any amount. Obviously, the only connotation which can be lent to such order is that the operative date of the direction would be from the date of the order itself and not prior thereto.

4. In contempt jurisdiction, the court cannot go behind the order and grant further relief in respect of the

period between the filing of the writ petition and the passing of the order.

5. In view of the compliance of the order, no useful purpose would be subserved in keeping the contempt application pending.

6. Accordingly, CPAN 900 of 2024 is disposed of as infructuous.

7. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
