Mr. Indranil Halder ..for the petitioner Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee ..for CESC Limited The petitioner alleges that Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited has raised exorbitant bills for the months of March and April 2025. It is submitted that, although the petitioner has submitted a representation to the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer, no action has been taken thereon. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of CESC Limited submits that the petitioner filed the representation only on June 3, 2025, and it is anticipated that the Grievance Redressal Officer will pass an order within a short period of time.

There is no justification for keeping this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Grievance Redressal Officer to dispose of the petitioner's representation, appearing at page 12 of

the writ petition, within a period of one month from the date of this order.

The petitioner shall be afforded an opportunity of hearing, and a reasoned order shall be communicated to him.

Until such decision is rendered, the petitioner's electricity connection shall not be disconnected. Accordingly, WPA 13118 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
