The petitioner has approached this Court for a direction upon the Trial Court for expeditious disposal of case no. N-152 of 2020 under Sections 21(c)/22(c)/23(c)/24/25/29/30 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act presently pending before the Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court at Barasat, North 24-Parganas. It is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that the petitioner is in custody since 29th July, 2020. There are 5 witnesses mentioned in the charge-sheet and out of them 3 witnesses have already been examined. However, for non-examination of the remaining two witnesses, Trial of the case against the accused cannot

be concluded. This Court is of the view that the instant revision can be disposed of with the assistance of the learned Public Prosecutor-inCharge on behalf of the State. Therefore, Ms. Puspita Saha, learned Advocate is requested to assist this Court on behalf of the State of West Bengal. Appointment of Ms. Saha be regularized by the learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal. Since the petitioner is in custody for about two and half years, the learned Trial Judge is requested to examine the remaining two witnesses directing the learned Public Prosecutor to produce the said two witnesses in a single day positively so that trial of the case may be disposed of.

At any rate, the learned Trial Judge shall dispose of the abovementioned case within two months from the date of communication of the order.
