Mr. Kalipada Chakraborty ...for the petitioner Petitioner participated in the selection process for being appointed in the post of Executive Assistant in the District-Purba Medinipur on being sponsored by the Employment Exchange Contai, Purba Medinipur.

Petitioner was provided admit card bearing Roll No. 073/Executive Assistant/P.M./2007 having numerical code no. 07 and participated in the written test held on 1st July, 2007 as general category candidate. According to the petitioner result was published on 14th August, 2007 containing names of 147 candidates against normal vacancy of 49 candidates at the ratio of 1:3. It has been stated in the writ petition that petitioner was wait listed candidate.

Petitioner claims consideration of his candidature against the vacancies which were available at the material point of time for the post of Executive Assistant.

Petitioner made representation dated 18th February, 2008 addressed to the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer, Purba Medinipur being the respondent no. 6. Prayer is made for consideration of representation.

No one appears for the respondents today.

Having considered the case made out in the writ petition this Court directs the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer being the respondent no. 6 to consider the representation of the petitioner which is to be made within 15 days from date by the petitioner. The respondent no. 6 is directed to take decision on receipt of such representation within 12 weeks thereafter after granting opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his representative.

reasoned decision shall be communicated to the petitioner within 2 (two) weeks thereafter.

Petitioner files supplementary affidavit affirmed on 22nd June, 2023 which is taken on record.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.

Applications, if pending, also stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
