Seeking a direction upon the respondents to allow the writ petitioner to change his option from CPF to GPF, this instant writ petition was preferred. The writ petitioner retires from service in 1997. This writ petition was affirmed in 2008 and in the affidavit portion, the age of the writ petitioner was mentioned as 71 years. None appeared to represent the writ petitioner after filing this writ petition.

In view thereof, we have no hesitation to hold that by efflux of time, the writ petition has become infructuous.

In view thereof, the writ petition is disposed of. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied as expeditiously as possible. (Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, J.)
