The petitioner knocked the door of this Court in 2008 asking for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents authorities to give him appointment in the post of laboratory attendant in Berhampore Girls' College. In 2007 one selection process was initiated for filling up of the post. The petitioner participated in the selection process and his name was placed in the second position of the panel and accordingly, he came before this Court so that he can get appointment in the post.

I am of the view that by efflux of time the panel had already been expired since long back and the writ petition has become infructuous. In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of without any order. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
