Ms. Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the arrear pension of Rs. 57,661/- as prayed for has been paid to the petitioner. Ms. Choudhury however prays for interest for the delayed payment of such arrear pension.

The Commissioner of School Education, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no. 2 herein, is directed to pay interest @ 8% per annum to the petitioner on the arrear pension from the date of her retirement till the date of payment and such payment be made within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

W.P.A. 13431 of 2023 is disposed of with the above observations without any order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
