Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a widowed lady who has sought a new electricity connection in her own name at her matrimonial home, where she is claiming independent residential right in accordance with law.

The police report filed by learned counsel for the State today be kept on record.

It appears from Annexure-P4 at page-18 and upon hearing learned counsel for the CESC Limited that an objection as to allege splitting of consumption of units has been taken by the CESC Limited to the petitioner's application for new electricity connection.

Since the authority delegated with the power to decide such issues is the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer, WPA 13344 of 2022 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned

Grievance Redressal Officer with the dispute as raised in the present writ petition.

In the event such an approach is made, the GRO shall decide the issue upon giving opportunity of hearing to all concerned, including the petitioner and the CESC Limited, in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within six weeks from the date of the reference to the GRO.

This court has not entered into the merits of the respective contentions of the parties and it will be open to the GRO to decide all issues involved independently without being influenced in any manner by any of the observations made herein.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
