Let the appointment of Mr. Mirza Ahmed Begg be regularized. This is an application for expeditious hearing of the criminal case being N-102/2019 under Section 21 (c) of the NDPS Act, 1985, pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that the case is at the evidence stage. There are total seven witnesses to be examined.

In this pandemic situation, the delay, if any, in conducting the trial cannot be attributed to the learned Judge in the Court below. However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer made in the petition, this application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Judge in the Court below to make an endeavour to

conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within one and a half years from the date of resumption of the normal functioning of the Court.

Thus, this revisional application being CRR 1796 of 2021 is disposed of.
