Co-accused persons have been enlarged on bail.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the petitioner is the principal assailant. We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner is the principal assailant and does not stand on the same footing with the co-accused persons who have been enlarged on bail. In view of the gravity of the offence and principal role played by the petitioner, we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant bail to the petitioner.
