An adjournment is prayed for on behalf of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL). However, having regard to the nature of the dispute involved, I find no reason to keep this writ petition pending.

The petitioner seeks an electricity connection for a submersible pump set and has already deposited the requisite charges with WBSEDCL. However, it appears that the connection could not be effected due to a way-leave issue.

In view of the aforesaid facts, WBSEDCL is directed to approach the concerned District Magistrate within a period of three weeks from date in terms of Rule 3(b) of the Works of Licensees Rules, 2006. The concerned District Magistrate shall decide the issue of way-leave after giving an opportunity of hearing to all concerned, and shall

pass an order in accordance with law within a period of three months thereafter.

Accordingly, WPA 14716 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
