The petitioner alleges that the respondent No.4, who had filed a complaint against the petitioner's son with regard to certain criminal activities, has been resisting the petitioner from entering his residential house situated at Ward No.6 under Taki Municipality within the jurisdiction of Hasnabad Police Station, District-North 24-Parganas. It is the specific contention of the petitioner that even if the petitioner's son is an accused in a criminal case, the petitioner cannot be disturbed, harassed or threatened by the respondent No.4. With the above allegation against the respondent No.4, the petitioner approached the Inspector-in-Charge, Hasnabad Police Station as also the Superintendent of Police,

Basirhat Police District. The grievance is that the police authorities have not taken any steps with regard to such complaints.

Learned Advocate for the respondent No.4 denies the allegations and submits that the said respondent did not either harass or intimidate the petitioner.

Having considered the grievances of the parties, this Court directs that, in the event the petitioner approaches the Inspector-in-Charge, Basirhat Police Station on August 12, 2022 with a prayer for assistance to enter his residential house, such assistance shall be granted. The police authorities shall keep a vigil to ensure that the petitioner is not unnecessarily harassed by respondent No.4. This order shall not have any impact on the pending investigation against the petitioner's son.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
