1. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that during the pendency of this application, the accused persons have been arrested.

2. In view thereof, this application for anticipatory bail has become infructuous and stands rejected.

The Superintendent of Police, Birbhum, is directed to enquire for the delay in taking steps against the accused persons. The case was registered in the year 2016 and they have been arrested only after this Court passed an order on 10th June, 2024 directing the State to file a status report.

4. Appropriate disciplinary proceeding should be initiated against the officer responsible for the delay after a proper enquiry. 5.

This order shall be immediately communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Birbhum for information and compliance.
