This is an application for expeditious hearing of N.D.P.S. Case No. 29 of 2020 under Sections 20(b) (ii) of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, pending before the learned Special Judge (N.D.P.S.), Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur. It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that out of ten witnesses, five witnesses have already been examined and all the remaining witnesses are police personnel. I do not see that there has been a delay in proceeding with the trial, particularly, when the learned Judge has to conduct the trial during a pandemic.

However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer made in this petition, this application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Judge in the Court below to make an endeavour to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a period of nine months from date without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

The revisional application being CRR 1805 of 2021 is disposed of.
