This is an application for expeditious hearing of G.R. Case No. 1604 of 2019 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 5th Court, Serampore, Hooghly, under Sections 341/323/504/ 506/354B/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The petitioner is the accused in the said case. It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that the case record was transmitted to the Court of the learned Magistrate on December 4, 2019, and thereafter, in spite of fixing several dates for charge hearing, till date, the charge hearing has not taken place.

It is not expected from the learned Magistrate in the Court below to conduct the proceeding at a normal pace in this pandemic situation.

However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer, I dispose of this revisional application with a direction upon the learned Magistrate in the Court below to conclude the charge hearing as early as possible, preferably, within a period of eight

weeks from date without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.

The revisionsal application being CRR 1809 of 2021, is disposed of.
