Petitioners have approached this Court being aggrieved by the insecurity which they have been facing since they have taken up issues relating to illegal constructions and to that effect have made representation to the Inspector-in-Charge, Lake Town Police Station and the Superior Officers of the police.

Having considered that the petitioners had been taking up the issue relating to illegal constructions and for that they have been faced with severe inconvenience in the locality, I am of the view that the petitioners are entitled to have some relief so far as their apprehension relating to their security is concerned.

Learned advocate for the State and the Municipality are present.

Having considered that the petitioners did not receive any response in respect of the mail which was sent to the Inspector-in-Charge of Lake Town Police Station, Director General of Police, West Bengal and the Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, I direct that the Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate to consider the representation dated 28.04.2025 restricted to the personal insecurity faced by the petitioners and take steps after ascertaining its veracity.

So far as the issues relating to illegal constructions are concerned, the appropriate Court of law will take steps for directing the police authorities as this Court lacks determination to adjudicate on the said issue. With the aforesaid observations WPA 13690 of 2025 is disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
