C.R.M. Learned counsel for the petitioner complains delay in trial. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. The petitioner appears to be the estranged husband of the victim. Eye witnesses have implicated the petitioner in the alleged crime. Post mortem report of the victim supports the prosecution case. Trial has commenced. Out of 35 witnesses 7 witnesses have been examined so far. Offence, if proved, shall attract mandatory life imprisonment.

Considering the extent of involvement of the petitioner in the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. The application for bail is disposed of.
