Present petition has been filed seeking directions to the respondents to allow the petitioner to surrender his permanent stage carriage permit being No. P.ST.P. 07/19-20.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has made a representation in this regard dated 14th January, 2026 to the Secretary, RTA, Paschim Bardhaman. Learned counsel submits that till date, the Secretary, RTA, Paschim Bardhaman has not responded. Learned counsel submits that an appropriate direction may be issued for consideration of the communication dated 14th January, 2026 after giving the parties an opportunity of being heard expeditiously.

Learned counsel for the State submits that the representation would be disposed of expeditiously in accordance with law.

In the circumstances, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the Secretary, RTA, Paschim Bardhaman to consider and decide the representation dated 14th January, 2026 of Mr. Kalipada Dutta after giving the parties an opportunity of being heard in accordance with law within four weeks. Since the affidavit has not been filed the averments are deemed to have not been admitted. The Secretary, RTA, Paschim Bardhaman shall communicate the decision to the petitioner within one week of its disposal. 5.

WPA 14364 of 2026 stands disposed of.
