Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner's son was taken into custody in connection with Jagacha Police Station Case No.222 of 2021 dated 21.08.2021 under Sections 326 and 207 of the Penal Code. He was granted bail in connection with the said case on 08.06.2022. However, while he was in custody, he was taken to the place of seizure and certain contraband articles were allegedly seized from him. The second case was started under the provisions of 21(c) of the NDPS Act. Trial commenced and only a few witnesses could be examined. The petitioner's prayer for bail was turned down in connection with the NDPS case. At this stage, the petitioner does not pray for

any other relief except expeditious disposal of the trial. The Division Bench has already passed a direction upon the Trial Court to conclude the trial within the stipulated time. But the time has lapsed.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits that several bail petitions were filed by the accused before this Court and the prayers were turned down.

It appears that this Court has already directed an expeditious disposal of the trial.

Let the learned Trial Court conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournments.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
