The petitioner is aggrieved by the action on the part of the passport authority in not renewing his passport despite no objection recorded by the learned trial Court.

It is submitted on behalf of the Union of India that a criminal proceeding is pending against the petitioner and that the authority requires certain documents from the petitioner for further processing of the passport application. The documents required have already been intimated to the petitioner vide communication dated April 28, 2025.

To this, the petitioner submits that despite submission of all documents, the authority is not taking any steps to renew the passport.

Learned Additional Solicitor General of India submits that the petitioner is required to comply with the stipulations as laid down in the Notification dated August 25, 1993 issued by the Ministry of External Affairs being GSR 570(E)

which reflects that the petitioner requires to produce order from the Court concerned permitting him to depart from India.

After hearing all parties, I dispose of the instant writ petition by observing that it will be open for the petitioner to take steps in accordance with the GSR mentioned hereinabove.

Affidavit of service filed in Court be taken on record.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
