Petitioner Mr. Balai Lal Sahoo .....for the Petitioner The petitioner seeks expeditious hearing of the proceeding being Misc. case no. 206 of 2017 arising out of an application under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.

It has been submitted by the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner that the Protection Officer has already submitted his report on October 24, 2017 and thereafter, on several occasions, the hearing of the case has been adjourned. It appears that the petitioner filed an application before the learned Magistrate in the year 2017, but till date, the said application has not been disposed of on merit. In view of the long delay in disposal of the case, this revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Judicial Magistrate, 5th Court at Barrackpore, 24 Parganas (North) to make an endeavour to dispose of the proceeding within a period of six months from the date of this order without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

Since the opposite parties will not be prejudiced by this order, this revisional application is disposed of without giving any notice to the opposite party no. 2.

Accordingly, CRR 1842 of 2021 is disposed of. All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the website of this Court.
