The petitioner is the Assistant Teacher of a school under District Primary School Council, 24Parganas (North). The petitioner is not getting A-Category Scale of pay for not having six months Bridge Course from a recognized institution though she has B.Ed. as her training qualification.
Mr. Biswas, learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that similarly placed teachers have been given the benefit of 'A' Category Scale of Pay in view of the Judgement of the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court passed in MAT 1038 of 2024 (Waliur Rahaman & Ors. -Vs- The State of West Bengal & Ors.) on July 30, 2024, copy of which has been annexed at page '37' of the writ petition.
Mr. Biswas prays that the issue may be relegated to the Commissioner of School Education,
Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.2 herein, for consideration.
The respondent no.2 is directed to consider the prayer of the petitioner for 'A' Category Scale of Pay in accordance with law and to facilitate such consideration; the petitioner is directed supply the complete copy of the writ petition to the respondent no.2.
The respondent no.2 shall make all endeavour to complete his exercise in this regard as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.
WPA 13749 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
