Kunal Mutsuddi v. The State Of West Bengal
05/01/2021 Item 7 (b) DL AB/S DE (Through Video Conference) W. P. A. 12688 of 2002 Kunal Mutsuddi Vs The State of West Bengal & Ors.
Mr. Rana Mukherjee, Mr. Sabir Ahmed, Advocates for the State, present in Court The petitioner had filed the present writ petition praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus alleging that one Abhijit Kundu was detained without following due process of law.
A perusal of paper book shows that ever since the present petition was filed way back in the year 2002, no one appeared for the petitioner. The matter was last listed in Court on 16.06.2009.
Today, when the case was taken up for hearing, no one appeared for the petitioner. Apparently the petitioner has lost interest in proceeding with the matter. In a petition praying for issuance of a writ of Habeas Corpus, which is pending in this Court for more than 18 years, nothing survives at this stage.
Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
