The petitioner applied for transfer on the ground of the long distance between the school and her residence. It is further submitted that the petitioner is a surplus teacher in the school where she is currently serving.

Her application for transfer is stated to be pending consideration before the Secretary, West Bengal Board of Primary Education.

Without going into the merits of the application, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Secretary, West Bengal Board of Primary Education to consider the said application in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of 60 days from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to

the petitioner immediately thereafter.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the application seeking transfer along with all documents in support of the same to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
