The communication dated 30th January, 2024 by the Chairman, Egra Municipality signed on 1st February, 2024 addressed to the Sub Divisional Officer, Egra Sub Division handed over in Court today is perused.

It appears therefrom that the municipality already conducted an investigation and it transpired that the death certificate of Dhiren Pramanik was handed over to his legal heir/son Swapan Pramanik. 3.

Geeta Pramanik, the writ petitioner herein claims to be the second wife of the deceased. 4.

The municipality is of the opinion that the first wife of the deceased is still alive. There is no order of divorce or re-marriage.

The municipality has opined that there is no requirement of any further investigation or enquiry in this regard.

Copy of the communication of the Chairman mentioned hereinabove has been handed over to the learned advocate representing the writ petitioner. 7.

Under such circumstances, the Court is not inclined to proceed with the contempt application any further.

The contempt application stands disposed of.

9.

It will be open for the petitioner to agitate any further grievance before the competent forum in accordance with law, if so advised.

10. Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today is kept with the records.

11. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
