Learned advocate for the petitioner submits there is no direct evidence of murder. He prays for bail. Learned advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer.

We have considered the materials on record.

Stepson of the petitioner stated that he had seen the petitioner quarrelling with the victim. Soon thereafter she was found dead. Post mortem report shows the victim had suffered homicidal death. Incriminating

articles were recovered from the petitioner. These clinching pieces of evidences and gravity of offence persuade us to deny bail to petitioner at this stage. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

We request the trial court to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Ajay Kumar Gupta, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
