The petition is misconceived.

The Block Development Officer, Mathurapur - I Development Block, South - Parganas has submitted instructions from which it appears that no recruitment or engagement of VST/VCT under Mathurapur - I Development Block has been made or has at all been initiated. The writ petition is based on an apprehension that 50 vacant posts of workers in 10 gram panchayats under the Mathurapur - I Development Block would be filled up in connection with the Vector Borne Diseases Programme in rural areas, without any advertisement.

The writ petition does not merit any consideration.

If at all any such recruitment programme is undertaken, the same shall be done in accordance

with law so that the persons in the locality can get a fair chance to participate, if they are otherwise eligible.

This writ petition is, thus, disposed of. There will be, however, no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
