Two affidavits-of-service, filed in Court today, are taken on record.

Deficit court fees have also been paid.

Mr. Sk. Rejaul Alam, learned counsel appears for the petitioner.

None appears for the state, despite notice.

Admittedly, the petitioners are all retired employees of National Volunteer Force (for short NVF). The petitioners have received the principle amount of ex-gratia after a considerable delayed period from the date of their retirement. The petitioners claim interest on such delayed payment of ex-gratia.

The respondent no. 2 and/or 3 is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the immediate next date of retirement until the date of actual payment of ex-gratia to each of the petitioners,

positively within a period of 12 weeks from the date of communication of this order.

In default the interest shall be carried at the rate of 9% per annum immediately on and from the expiry of the said 12th week.

Since affidavits are not called for, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.

With the above observations and directions, this writ petition, WPA 13903 of 2025 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
