Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is the husband of the victim who died of poisoning within 71⁄2 months of her marriage. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

Statements of witnesses recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure implicate the petitioner. It is alleged that the petitioner along with other co accused administered poison to the victim resulting in her death. Considering the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
